Adult Social Programming

We are thrilled to have so many ways and opportunities to come together as a community.  Whether participating in our long-term activities, Brotherhood, Sisterhood or Renaissance, or creating or joining one of our new Sinai Circles, there is always something to get involved with at Temple Sinai!

Sinai Circles

Sinai Circles is our newest initiative to bring like minded people together to build community while doing an activity they all enjoy!  This small groups program can include any activity from hiking to baking, a non-fiction book club, going to the movies, enjoying play dates with your dog or another interest that you'd like to share with others!   We hope this will help you make deeper connections with other members and build an even stronger sense of community through shared interest activities!  If you're interested in leading or joining one of our newly created Sinai Circles, contact Jocelyn for more information at jinglis@templesinaibc.org or at 201.568.3035.

The Connections Project

In partnership with the 90th Anniversary of The Community Chest, Temple Sinai is starting The Connections Project, a program designed to help combat loneliness and connect our congregants to each other one person at a time.  The concept is simple...volunteers will call Temple members to check in on them and see how they're doing. This project will not only be a lifeline for those members in need (whether they, or we, realize it or not), but will be a great opportunity for those who want to act as a Connector.  For more information, or to find out how you can be a Connector and reach out to our temple family members, call or email Jocelyn at 201.568.3035 or jinglis@templesinaibc.org.

Sisterhood

Sisterhood plays an essential role in making Temple Sinai a warm and welcoming community. Throughout the year, this group works hard to create opportunities for women of all ages to connect spiritually, socially and charitably while passing down our traditions L'Dor V'Dor (from generation to generation). Sisterhood works together and contributes to the temple, Early Childhood Center, Religious School, Brotherhood, Renaissance, Youth Group, our clergy, our community and to Israel.

Please join Sisterhood! There is a calendar full of programs throughout the year celebrating holidays, gathering together for social action programs, fundraising events, community outreach and more. In addition there are pop up programs corresponding with current events. Stay tuned via the temple website, Facebook and other venues of communication for constant updates. Please remember to join Sisterhood in order to be informed of the myriad events of Sisterhood that attract our entire temple membership! For more information, contact sisterhood@templesinaibc.org

Keep up to date on our Facebook page!

Brotherhood

The Brotherhood of Temple Sinai sponsors activities designed to expand the horizons of Temple members interested in today's Jewish life and community affairs, and raises funds to support numerous Temple initiatives.

Together with Sisterhood, the Brotherhood supports the annual Break-the-Fast following the Yom Kippur Service. Brotherhood also helps sponsor additional holiday celebrations. Our social activities include barbeque dinners, football tailgate events, wine tastings and more. We look forward to having you join and become an active part of the Brotherhood.  For more information, contact brotherhood@templesinaibc.org.

Renaissance

The Renaissance Group is for congregants age 55 and older. Throughout the year, the group participates in a variety of educational and cultural experiences in a social atmosphere. Activities include book discussions, movies, lectures, concerts, museum and theater trips, and historical tours. Activities often end with dinner at a nearby restaurant. Suggestions for new events are always welcomed by the Planning Committee, and many friendships are formed within the congenial atmosphere. Annual Renaissance group dues help offset the expense of activities.
